This guide configures sending only. Your existing mailbox must already be added to Thunderbird to read incoming messages.

Before you start

  • A paid Clynde plan with sending included
  • An SMTP credential created in your Clynde domain panel; copy its username and one-time password
  • DKIM and DMARC records shown in Clynde added and verified
  • Your receiving mailbox already works in Thunderbird

Step-by-step setup

1

Add an outgoing server

Open Tools → Account Settings. At the bottom of the left sidebar, choose Outgoing Server (SMTP), then Add.

Server name
smtp.improvmx.com
Port
587
Connection security
STARTTLS
Authentication
Normal password / Contraseña normal
Username
Your full Clynde alias / Tu alias completo de Clynde

Port 465 with SSL/TLS also works if your network blocks port 587.

2

Add your address as an identity

In Account Settings, select the inbox you use, choose Manage Identities, then Add. Enter your Clynde alias as the email address and select the outgoing server you just created.

3

Send and save the password

Compose a message, select your Clynde alias in From, and send it to another address. When Thunderbird asks, enter your Clynde SMTP password and optionally save it.

You're ready to send

Thunderbird now pairs your professional address with the correct outgoing server. Repeat the identity step for more aliases.
