DELIVERABILITY

Understand and resolve suppressions

A suppression temporarily or permanently stops forwarding attempts to a destination that has rejected messages. This prevents repeated bounces and protects delivery for everyone.

Temporary

Shows an expiration and may clear automatically when the system checks the address again.

Permanent

Does not expire on its own. Resolve the cause, then unblock the address manually.

Common reasons

  • The destination address does not exist or is misspelled.
  • The mailbox is full or temporarily over quota.
  • The destination server has repeatedly rejected messages.

How to review and unblock

1

Open your domain

In your Clynde dashboard, select the domain and open Suppressions.

2

Read the reason

Review the explanation and expiration. If the mailbox is full, free space; if the address does not exist, correct it in the alias.

3

Decide whether to wait

A temporary suppression may clear automatically. A permanent one requires you to unblock it after resolving the cause.

4

Unblock and test

Select Unblock, confirm the action, then send a test. If the problem continues, the address may be suppressed again.

Resolve the cause first

Unblocking allows new attempts, but it does not guarantee delivery. If the mailbox keeps rejecting messages, it will be suppressed again to protect service reputation.
