Google has announced that personal Gmail will remove “Send mail as” in January 2027. This setup works today, but you may need to move sending to Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or another supported app before then. Google Workspace availability depends on your organization’s settings.
In Gmail, select the settings gear, then See all settings. Open Accounts and Import and find Send mail as. Select Add another email address.
Enter the name recipients should see and the full alias you created in Clynde. Leave Treat as an alias unchecked, then continue.
Copy the username and password from your Clynde sending credential. Use the server exactly as shown—Gmail may suggest mx1.yourdomain.com automatically, but that server only receives mail and will fail.
Open the Gmail inbox your alias forwards to. Use the link or code in Google’s confirmation message to approve the address.
Compose a message, choose your professional address in From, and send it to a different address. Do not use the same Gmail inbox your alias forwards to, because Gmail may hide the duplicate from Inbox.
Your Gmail inbox can now send as your custom-domain address. Repeat the same process for any additional alias.
