Use your Clynde address in Mail on iPhone or iPad

Mail reads your forwarded messages from Gmail and sends replies from your professional domain address.

You need two different passwords: your Gmail App Password for incoming mail, and your Clynde SMTP password for outgoing mail. They are not interchangeable.

Before you start

  • A paid Clynde plan with sending included
  • An SMTP credential created in your Clynde domain panel; copy its username and one-time password
  • DKIM and DMARC records shown in Clynde added and verified
  • Your Clynde alias forwards to Gmail
  • Google 2-Step Verification and a Gmail App Password

Step-by-step setup

Add an Other account

Open Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts → Add Account. Choose Add Other Account. Do not pick Google, because automatic setup locks the outgoing server.

Enter the account details

Use your display name, your full Clynde alias as the email, your Gmail App Password, and any helpful description. Tap Next.

Complete both IMAP servers

Select IMAP. Gmail receives your forwarded mail; Clynde sends your replies.

Save the account

Leave Mail switched on; Notes is optional. Tap Save.

Confirm the outgoing port

Open the account again, then Account Settings → SMTP → Primary Server. Confirm these values and tap Done.

Send a test

Compose a message, confirm From shows your Clynde alias, and send it to another address you own.

You're ready to send

Mail now receives through Gmail and sends from your professional address through Clynde.
